Issue
In 96% of stores, identifying, sorting, and managing the promotional sale of short-dated products is difficult due to the time spent and the lack of monitoring of promotions.
Managers and department managers often encounter the following problems:
- Over 3 man hours per day needed to identify short-dated products in a store measuring 2500m2 (teams check the dates of all products daily).
- Time lost spent sorting products that are unsaleable due to their expiration date
- Lack of tools for managing promotional sales: loss of revenue per FTE, loss of margins due to promotions, number of CUs sold by item/product family sold on promotion
- Reducing waste
These issues cause time to be wasted, risk expired products being left on shelves, too many stickered products being sold, and reduce revenue per FTE, causing additional costs for the store.
Current solutions only allow shorted-dated products to be monitored manually (checked individually by teams) and reduced products to be sold through manual solutions without the use of mobile apps or traceability.
These solutions don’t allow the sale of short-dated products to be optimized, standardized, or controlled, nor for savings to be made in terms of staff and waste processing costs.
