This biomaterial can be considered as drug if we consider its pharmacological and immunological activities (cell proliferation, antimicrobial activity, tissue regeneration thanks to growth factors, modulation of the immune response) or as a medical device (dressing, implant...) if we consider certain activities as accessories.
