Temporary security solutions on construction sites typically offer a remotely operated watchtower with a camera feed going to a control room that monitors the site for intruders. 

Front end software on the cameras is able to reduce false alarms for more efficient monitoring. Other functionality can include the type of power source for the tower (mains, battery, hydrogen, solar), the type of camera (infrared, thermal imaging), as well as the portability of the tower itself. Watchtower surveillance systems have been shown to significantly reduce crime on construction sites.
