Following the commissioning of electrical wiring in a tertiary building, an industrial site or a housing unit, electricians will next visit when carrying out maintenance or repairing failures.
When a malfunction is observed, the electrician must:
- Intervene as quickly as possible to limit inconvenience for users/customers.
- During their first visit, find the failure and repair it at the same time if possible,
- Return if they are unable to repair the failure during the first visit.
Currently, these visits take the form of remedial rather than predictive repairs.
They therefore currently lack the ability to predict these failures and act in advance, or to arrive on the scene knowing the exact source of the failure, in the case of unpredicted issues.
