Predicting failures on electrical circuits thanks to a connected object

Following the commissioning of electrical wiring in a tertiary building, an industrial site or a housing unit, electricians will next visit when carrying out maintenance or repairing failures. 

When a malfunction is observed, the electrician must:

• Intervene as quickly as possible to limit inconvenience for users/customers.
• During their first visit, find the failure and repair it at the same time if possible, 
• Return if they are unable to repair the failure during the first visit.

Currently, these visits take the form of remedial rather than predictive repairs.

They therefore currently lack the ability to predict these failures and act in advance, or to arrive on the scene knowing the exact source of the failure, in the case of unpredicted issues.

We have developed a connected object that makes it easier to predict failures and simplifies maintenance.

This connected object:

• Does not require batteries.
• Is installed on the cable and works for low current (2A) as well as single-phase and three-phase. 
• Is installed in the installer’s location of choice (choice of the targeted cable and location on the cable).
• Enables real-time measurement of the cable temperature, humidity and ageing in order to simplify maintenance and anticipate failures.
• Features a web and mobile interface for monitoring this information by site and by customer.
• Directly detects and reports problems on a cable or an electrical system, thus allowing the operator’s maintenance teams to react quickly or for external teams to be called out.
