Bonding of mineral and ceramic materials on metals has existed for many years.
We need your help to
identify existing adhesives that could meet our requirement, or
partners ready to develop the corresponding glue if necessary.
The specifications that the glue must comply with relate to aesthetic, chemical and physical aspects:
- Transparent, non-fluorescent, stable color that does not change appearance of the bonded materials
- Viscosity adapted to different geometries: possibility of repositioning the assembly before the glue sets (useful life > 20 min) and adapted to applications with “handcraft" means (by hand or doser)
- Possibility of ungluing the assembly with standard equipment
- Complies with applicable regulations (REACH)
- Insensitive to external parameters (temperature, humidity, UV, etc.)
The desired mechanical properties of the assembly are:
- Resistance in aging tests (salt spray, damp heat, falls on parquet, turbula, ultrasound)
- 25 N shear strength on an area between 2 and 10 mm²
- Stability of transparency under UV
We already use and know 3 adhesives of the following brands: Araldite, Loctite, EPY.
