The impact of California's new Title 24 requirements for new buildings

The adoption rate and implementation of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) is significantly rising - specifically solutions that incorporate Solar and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
 
For example, late last year the state of California adopted new language in their Title 24 code that will make it a mandatory requirement for new commercial buildings greater than 5,000 square feet to be equipped with Solar and BESS technology beginning in 2023.
 
Among the mandatory requirements are:
·       Time off use control
·       Demand response control
·       Compliance with network metering rules
 
Through this questionnaire, we want to gain a better understanding for the potential impacts of Title 24, including application, probability, and timeframe.
