Issue
As most companies transform their activities towards the digital world, they migrate massively their IT and work applications from on-premise datacenters to public clouds (AWS, Azure, Google...) reachable through Internet.
As cloud providers deliver scalable and automated compute resources worldwide, companies are simultaneously transforming their networks to achieve scalable, automated and global connectivity solutions.
This is impacting the "traditional" telecommunication activity in which connectivity is consumed over a private network, with limited view on operations and few digitization. Moreover, cloud providers offer new models including networking and security services, which competes with telco activities and gradually erase boundaries between connectivity, security and cloud needs.
While many vendors and Communication Service Providers (CSP) provide specific and captive all-in-one solutions, a more versatile approach emerges, where the customer can both benefit from telco network & security knowledge and get the best of cloud value proposition.
Our objective is to understand how customers are willing to get their service today, in order to find the right balance between the old full management and the pure do-it-yourself (on-demand, self-service, pay-as-you-go, ...).
