Decarbonated glass products in the automotive industry

Issue

The production of glass requires a large quantity of energy in order to melt the raw materials. Currently the heat applied to this melting process is generated by the combustion of natural gas, thus creating large quantities of CO2 emitted into the atmosphere.

In order to decarbonize this industry, innovative processes are being developed and will be implemented into the production. The processes of decarbonation will lead to higher production costs or impaired product quality at a low level.
