Continuous determination of the alumina content for the electrolytic production of aluminium
The production of aluminum by electrolysis is carried out using a molten salt capable of dissolving alumina. This highly corrosive cryolite-based molten salt is maintained near 1000°C and is fed with alumina as it is consumed by the electrolysis reaction. However, there is no continuous alumina content sensor for industrial cells.
Through this questionnaire, we seek to identify an economically viable means of continuously estimating this concentration.
