Looking For A Sensor To Measure The Continuous Temperature Of An Aluminium Electrolytic Cell?

Due to the high electrical currents, the installation of sensors inside aluminium electrolytic cells is difficult and requires occasional measurements outdoors or by operators.

With this questionnaire, we would like to find out what solutions are available on the market to meet our requirements for continuous or semi-continuous bath temperature measurement.

Issue

Constant or regular monitoring of the bath temperature has become essential in today's demanding aluminium electrolysis process.
Due to the high electrical currents involved, it is difficult to install sensors inside the tanks, so spot measurements have to be taken outdoors or by operators.

The aim of this project is to develop solutions for continuous or semi-continuous bath temperature measurement under aluminium electrolysis conditions, taking into account the following criteria:

various corrosive elements (fluorine-containing steam)
1000 degree bath temperature
exposure of the measuring device to high temperatures of up to 300 degrees, which requires cooling of the equipment (without the use of water)
no water, as there is a risk of explosion
magnetic fields of about 300 Gauss, which can interfere with the operation of unshielded electronic devices
alumina dust, which can clog the sensors
